Twilight Soundtrack

Have you heard the soundtrack for the massively popular Twilight? This soundtrack is a combination of songs by some seriously talented artists (Muse, MuteMath). The album opens with the not so new song (but still good) "Supermassive Black Hole" by Brit rock band Muse. Followed by one of Paramore’s better songs called "Decode", and a few other tracks I had a hard time getting into, the album hits its high point with track # 5, "Spotlight" by MuteMath. One of my favorite bands, they prove once again their skills with another energetic song. This album has some tracks that had me hitting the skip button on my CD player, but overall it’s a decent album with a really diverse set of songs.

Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword (DVD)

The Mystery Inc. crew hits Asia!!!

The story starts off right in the heart of Tokyo where the mysterious Black Samurai is woken up inside a museum. What started out as an innocent trip to Japan suddenly turns into one of the most dangerous cases Scooby and the gang ever got involved with. Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword is the latest full length Scooby film on DVD and it’s a good one! There are ninja robots, a story with lots of twists and turns, and of course Shaggy and Scooby’s trademark comedy. With some kung-fu action and all the fun and laughter that’s expected from a Scooby show, Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword turns out to be a hit. With so many choices in the animation genre these days, it’s good to see more and more Scooby-Doo animated films being made.

Check it out!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: A Galaxy Divided (DVD)

If you couldn't get enough of the Clone Wars movie, and haven't had the chance to see the show on Cartoon Network, fear not. WHV has brought four of the most popular episodes from the series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS on DVD. This first volume is titled “A Galaxy Divided" and it’s packed with lots of action and some awesome CGI animation. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Ahsoka are all here to show off their Jedi skills in each adventure. I don’t get to see the show on Cartoon Network, so it was great to be able to watch them finally on DVD. I just wish there were more episodes on the disc. Well, four is better than none I guess. I hear that another DVD will be released in the summer, so be on the lookout for that one soon.

Mr. Belvedere: Seasons One & Two (DVD)

Streaks on the china, never mattered before, who cares.

If you know exactly what TV show that opening line came from, then you know all about THE MAN known as Mr. Belvedere. In the 80's, there were two sitcoms that had famous male housekeepers. The first was Tony on the classic show Who's The Boss. The other was the sarcastic and quick-witted Mr. Belvedere. Mr. Belvedere was an English housekeeper that worked for the Owens family. The Owens family was a group of 5 that needed some help, and not only with keeping the house clean. Enter Mr. Belvedere, who came into their lives and brought his English charm to help “whip them into shape”. Think of him as a much bigger and sarcastic version of Mary Poppins. I was surprised recently when I heard the show was finally brought to DVD. For a while I figured it was lost in pop culture oblivion to be forgotten. But lo and behold, Shout! Factory has brought this classic series back to life with a 5-disc set of Seasons 1 and 2. Fans of this show can now relive their favorite moments and episodes with this great collection. Shout! Factory did a decent job with the transfer of these episodes to DVD format. For an older show, the viewing quality is pretty good. I definitely recommend it for any fan of the show, or anyone curious to find out more about this classic from the 80’s.

Yes Man (DVD)

Jim Carrey has still got it.

We’ve seen Carrey in a role like this many times before, but at least he still knows how to be funny. Remember Liar Liar? In that great film, he played a character that could NOT lie, no matter what. In Yes Man, he plays Carl, a guy who can NOT say the dreaded word “No”. That’s right. When his character reaches a low point in life, he reluctantly takes someone’s recommendation to become a “Yes Man”. It means that he has to say “Yes” to whatever is presented to him so he can open up the doors to all of life’s possibilities. That makes way for some hilarious (and gross) situations he finds himself in. Yes Man isn’t the most original comedy to come along, but Carrey and co-star Zooey Deschanel make it worth watching for some good laughs.
