"Words and music did for me what solid, even rigorous religious argument could never do, they introduced me to God, not belief in God, more an experiential sense of GOD. Over art, literature, reason, the way in to my spirit was a combination of words and music. As a result the book of Psalms always felt open to me and led me to the poetry of Ecclesiastes, the Song of Solomon, the book of John …" —Bono, Introduction to the Psalms
Interesting how this guy seems to get bashed from people of faith, for dropping the F-Bomb on TV, and from other situations, but yet this is the same guy who's songs get heard by people who wouldn't even think about stepping foot in a church. Songs that talk about love, grace, Yahweh, and a place "where the streets have no name". Thanks for reminding us, Bono.

No I didn't, but I heard Pat Robertson sings one mean version of "With or without you" on the karaoke..
I love him.
Gordon, you should read "Bono In conversation with Mischka Assayas". It is really good.
I am listening to U2 right now. surprise surprise.
great words. Bout time someone put this into perspective...the amazing influence of musicians, yet the world magnifies the flaw instead of what's raw..great words
oh,come on gord. it's one thing to pick up nuggets of wisdom here and there and get inspired, but to actually thank the person or entity to this extent and publicly too is just mawkish, since you don't know him personally, you just know of him. i might as well thank dumbledore--forget about rowling for her inspiring bio, the "gold-digger guy" (i forget his name), and rick warren for mentioning god. promptly thank bono if he personally did you a favor. otherwise, leave the emotions in the bathroom when you're sitting on the bowl. better yet, just thank steve brown. it's probably more fitting. no sarcasm intended. of course, more power to the ones that are showing love in action, like u2. hopefully, it triggers a domino effect to the myriad of influential others. thank god he's(god) got the arms tender and big enough to bestow mercy in however form he chooses. btw, since i mentioned wisdom, i will be quoting Madonna in my future posting and demi's husband. having said all that, i love you and you continually interest me.
