Move it, Move it!!!
Hooray! In case you haven’t heard, MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA is finally out on DVD. I actually think this sequel is funnier than the original. Thanks to some hilarious scenes (especially with the Old Lady) and some really cool CGI, this is one film that's extremely entertaining. The voice talents this time include the original cast (Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, and Jada Pinkett Smith) and some new members such as Alec Baldwin, will.i.am, and Bernie Mac. When I stared at the characters’ faces in the film, I thought that they actually resembled the person who did the voice. It was eerie at one point when I thought that I really saw Alec Baldwin on screen instead of the animated lion he was playing! That’s how amazing the animation was.
This sequel takes place when Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria are preparing to leave Madagascar and head back to NYC. Unfortunately, they don’t make it to NYC when their plane suddenly crash lands in Africa. Alex gets a big surprise when he unexpectedly meets his mom and dad. The rest of the gang finds out that life isn’t so bad there when they meet up with other animals like them. This movie is one that adults can enjoy especially since a lot of the jokes are aimed at them. Of course, kids will dig it too. Overall, this is one film that was loads of fun to watch. And as an added bonus, the Double DVD Pack comes with an extra disc of adventures from Nickelodeon’s brand new series, The Penguins of Madagascar!
