The Wrestler (DVD)

There are some movies that come around once in a while to really affect its viewers in such a deep way. The Wrestler is one of those movies. Hailed as “Mickey Rourke’s comeback role”, this movie is an emotional look at someone who just wants to matter in life. Mickey did an awesome job as Randy “The Ram” Robinson, a washed out wrestler who’s trying to keep his head above water. He lives in a trailer home, wrestles on the weekends, and tries to start a relationship with a stripper while attempting to repair the torn relationship with his estranged daughter. There are so many layers to this film that it’s hard to mention everything. Here’s a character on film who you see hit rock bottom, but yet still tries to keep going in life. It’s one of the most touching and honest looks at life through the eyes of someone trying to piece his life together. The Wrestler is out on DVD now and I definitely recommend checking out this powerful film.
