Blossom: Season 1 & 2 (DVD)

Whoa!

There's a big difference between the normal way people say "Whoa" and the way Joey Lawrence said it in the show Blossom. In fact, try and strike up a conversation about the show and I bet someone will throw in their own impression of Joey's famous "Whoa!"

Thanks to the great people over at Shout! Factory, Seasons 1 & 2 of Blossom have been released on DVD. After watching it recently, I got reminded that this was actually a pretty smart comedy. Sure, the main character is a 14 year old girl. However, it's far from being a cheesy teenage "coming of age" show. It dealt with issues like divorce, drugs, dating, sex, etc. What's interesting about this show is that it could create an episode about a serious topic, but in a humorous and lighthearted way without getting overly emotional. Shout! Factory's collection of the first two seasons has all the episodes packed into an impressive 6 disc set. There are more than enough episodes here to please long time fans that have waited a while to see its DVD release. And if you haven't seen it yet, do check it out.
